How do I find a doctor that accepts MO HealthNet?
Doctors who take care of pregnant women are called Obstetricians, or OB for short. If you have an OB in mind, you can call their office and ask them if they take MO HealthNet insurance. If you need to find an OB, call your health plan at the number on the back of your card or search online at: mymohealthportal.com/provider-search.
It is very important that you see a doctor as soon as you find out you are pregnant. MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women covers all your care during pregnancy and up to 12 months after the date of delivery. Does MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women cover pregnancy loss or still birth?
If you have experienced a miscarriage or still birth, please know there is grief support available. MO HealthNet covers healthcare services for you during your pregnancy and up to 12 months after loss of your baby. If you have specific questions, please reach out to your health plan by calling the number on the back of your health insurance card.
Does MO HealthNet cover Midwife services?
Yes. MO HealthNet will cover services provided by a Certified Nurse Midwife that accepts MO HealthNet insurance.
Does MO HealthNet cover a home birth?
Home births are covered under the MO HealthNet Fee-For-Service program. If you are currently a MO HealthNet Managed Care member and you elect a home birth, you may be disenrolled from the Managed Care program at their request. However, you would continue to get healthcare coverage through the MO HealthNet Fee-For-Service program for the duration of your pregnancy and post-partum care.
Can MO HealthNet help cover the cost of a breast pump?
If you are a MO HealthNet Managed Care member, breast pumps are provided to you through your health plan. For Fee-For-Service participants, breast pumps are covered up to the age of 21.
Can I get healthcare coverage after my pregnancy ends?
