If you wish to apply for the national health scheme in person, visit the nearest NHIF office or Huduma Centre. Carry all the required documents. Request an NHIF registration form, fill it up, and submit it at the relevant desk.
The relevant personnel will work on your request and register you. They will give you a date to collect your NHIF card.

To complete your registration successfully, you must have the following.
NHIF does not charge a registration fee. Once you register, you are required to remit your monthly contribution for three months immediately, i.e. KE 1,500. Failure to do so attracts penalties.
Regular cards take up to 14 days, and one can collect them at the nearest NHIF office or Huduma Centre. In some cases, cards are processed urgently. Urgent cards take 24 hours.
